We deliver the extreme precision required for sealing systems, working effortlessly with challenging materials like stainless steel, ceramics, and tungsten carbide.
Grinding
Our machinery pool handles a large material selection. Our extensive experience in ID and OD (inner and outer) grinding allows us to achieve high precision down to the micron level, even for unconventional dimensions.
Deep Hole Drilling
Our mechanical specialists are highly experienced in manufacturing custom components, including long transmission shafts for unmanned vehicles (UAVs).
High-Precision Machining
At Premec, we combine years of high-precision machining know-how with an expansive suite of technologies to manufacture highly complex parts. By operating advanced CNC systems, software, and state-of-the-art metrology inside strictly temperature-stabilized facilities, our technical team focuses on every single micron to consistently achieve your most challenging engineering requirements.
Swiss Machining
For over 60 years, Swiss machining has been our core expertise. We manufacture micro-components in the millions, delivering extreme precision for diameters up to 5 mm. Going far beyond basic turning, we integrate cross-drilling, grooving, and asymmetrical milling to drop finished parts straight from the machine  — eliminating secondary setups and ensuring absolute accuracy.
Precision Drilling
Our technical expertise ensures absolute precision from ultra-fine micro-drilling to precise cross-holes. By eliminating tool wandering and geometric deformation, we guarantee perfect concentricity and strict dimensional tolerances down to a few microns for high-specification electronics, sensors, and medical devices.
Centerless Grinding
When flawless concentricity is non-negotiable, our centerless grinding capabilities guarantee the tightest dimensional tolerances and geometric consistency. By masterfully eliminating component deflection entirely, we consistently meet the stringent requirements of precision motor shafts, industrial pins, surgical drill bits, and press-fit couplings.
Precision Ball Lapping
Premec produces millions of high-precision spheres every year using our extensive ball lapping experience. We deliver flawless surface finishes and ultra-tight tolerances across a massive range, from micro-components (0.2 mm) up to heavy-duty applications like windmills (50.8 mm)following ISO 3290 standards.
Precision Lapping
We provide high-precision planar lapping for mission-critical components in sealing systems, valves, and medical devices. For your most demanding applications, we routinely achieve flatness and parallelism tolerances down to 2 microns.
Wire EDM
Our high-precision wire EDM cuts complex geometries and internal profiles beyond the limits of traditional milling. It effortlessly machines hard materials like tungsten carbide or superalloys with micron-level accuracy and perfectly flat surfaces. This process is ideal for manufacturing keyways, micro-gears, stamping punches, precision inserts, and medical components.
Sinker EDM
We leverage advanced sinker EDM to machine complex blind cavities in hard materials like titanium with high precision. This process delivers absolute accuracy for non-uniform 3D geometries, varying depths, and intricate contoured steps. It is ideal for manufacturing critical components like surgical instruments, orthopaedic implants, sensor housings, fuel nozzles, and automotive stamping die inserts.
Hard Machining
By finish-machining components after heat treatment at hardness levels from 45 to 65 HRC, we completely eliminate thermal distortion. Utilizing ultra-rigid machine architectures and specialized tooling, we achieve grinding-quality surface finishes and micron-level dimensional tolerances in a single setup, ensuring flawless geometric accuracy for your most critical components.
Complementary Technologies
Laser Cutting
We utilize advanced laser cutting to achieve fast processing speeds and total geometric freedom for complex shapes. Operating with no tool wear and no part distortion due to zero mechanical pressure, the process delivers clean, burr-free finishes. With fast setup and no tooling costs, this efficient technology provides the ideal foundation for material preparation before components move to high-precision CNC setups.
Wire Cutting
When laser technologies are not suited, we move to wire cutting. Our high-precision wire EDM excels at cutting complex geometries and internal profiles beyond the capabilities of laser cutting. It is optimized for thick parts, extreme aspect ratios, and ultra-hard or pre-heat-treated materials. Delivering strict tolerances down to a few microns, this technology is ideal for producing sharp, intricate features such as keyways, splines, punch inserts, and medical components
Laser Welding
Laser welding delivers exceptional processing speeds and flawless repeatability for complex components. Concentrating high energy on a limited area achieves strong structural welds with a minimal heat zone, preventing thermal distortion. The process ensures clean, hermetically sealed joints with excellent aesthetics, and safely handles diverse materials for high-specification electronics, sensors, and medical devices.
Metal Stamping
Besides manufacturing our own custom dies and punches, metal stamping allows us to shape high-specification components with flawless repeatability. Utilizing precision tooling and automated presses, this high-speed process handles complex blanking, punching, and forming sequences across diverse materials. It provides the ideal, cost-effective manufacturing foundation for mass-producing critical industrial parts—including brackets, clips, and lead frames.
Sheet Metal Bending
Sheet metal bending turns flat profiles into accurate multi-dimensional structures with perfect angles. Utilizing CNC press brakes, this process handles complex folds and multi-bend sequences with perfect repeatability. It provides the ideal manufacturing foundation for high-specification electronic enclosures, equipment housings for laboratory instrumentation, and structural frames in robotics and industrial automation.
